Former NFL OL Eben Britton Says He Played Multiple Games After Smoking Marijuana

Former NFL OL Eben Britton mentioned in an interview with Michael Kaplan of the New York Post that he actually played multiple games after smoking marijuana.

NFL games I played stoned were some of the best games I ever played,” Britton said. “Cannabis cements your surroundings. A lot of people say they’re useless when they smoke weed. But hell, I played NFL games [while stoned], dude. My performances were solid and I felt really good after.”

Britton added that he smoked marijuana while in the NFL to relieve “psychological distress or sciatica or pain in my shoulders.”

According to Britton, there is “over 50 percent and it could be as high as 75 percent” of NFL players who smoke marijuana.

Britton, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. He spent four years in Jacksonville before signing on with the Bears as an unrestricted free agent in 2013.

Britton spent two years with the Bears, but hasn’t found any reported interest since becoming an unrestricted free agent last year.

The NFL suspended Britton four games for a violation last year.
