Former Rams LB James Laurinaitis Visiting Falcons Tuesday

Update:

The Atlanta Falcons announced that former Rams LB James Laurinaitis will visit with them on Tuesday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that free agent LB James Laurinaitis is scheduled to visit with the Falcons on Monday and Tuesday.

Last week, Laurinaitis took his first visit to New Orleans to meet with the Saints after he was cut loose by the Rams.

Laurinaitis wound up leaving the visit with the Saints without a contract and reportedly has interest from a few teams.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Laurinaitis wouldn’t factor into their 2017 compensation picks, so that’s a bonus to consider.

Laurinaitis, 29, was entering the fifth year of his six-year, $42.12 million contract that and would have made a base salary of $5.775 million for the 2016 season when he was released a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Laurinaitis appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 109 tackles, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble, a pass defense and a safety.

We’ll have more regarding Laurinaitis as the news is available.
