Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun is hearing that the Titans have discussed the possibility of luring Ravens DC Dean Pees out of retirement to serve as their defensive coordinator.
Zrebiec notes that Pees has a relationship with new Titans HC Mike Vrabel from their time together in New England. Although, he isn’t sure how likely this possibility is.
Pees made the decision to retire earlier this month and was replaced by Don “Wink” Martindale as the Ravens’ defensive coordinator.
Pees, 68, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as their linebackers coach. He worked his way up to defensive coordinator before joining the Ravens in 2010.
Baltimore promoted him to their defensive coordinator in 2012 and he remained in charge of their defense the past six seasons.
