Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that former Ravens S Will Hill is facing potential discipline from the league.

This further explains why he was released on Wednesday, despite being a productive player for Baltimore in the past few years. Many assumed that his released was to create some cap space and a roster spot for newly signed S Eric Weddle.

Hill has already been suspended three times during his NFL career, so this is a huge concern for him. His third suspension resulted in him being cut by the Giants and led to him playing for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena League before the Ravens gave him another opportunity.

Hill, 26, was in the final year of his two-year, $7.006 million contract that included $5.16 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $2.84 million in available cap space for the Ravens.

In 2015, Hill appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 64 tackles, one sack, an interception, and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 17 safety out of 88 qualifying players.
