Former Bears WR Josh Morgan Charged For Reckless Use Of Firearm

TMZ reports that free agent WR Josh Morgan has been charged with misdemeanor reckless use of a firearm after accidentally shooting himself on January 31.

The self inflicted wound is believed to be non-life threatening. Morgan claims he sustained the injury while cleaning the weapon.

Morgan, 30, is a former sixth-round pick by the 49ers back in 2008. He played out his rookie contract with San Francisco and later signed a five-year deal with the Redskins as an unrestricted free agent back in 2012.

However, Morgan lasted just two years in Washington and later caught on with the Bears for his last season of activity in 2014.

He was signed by the Saints back in May, but was unfortunately one of the team’s final roster cuts.

In 2014, Morgan appeared in 14 games and caught 10 passes for 70 receiving yards to go along with one touchdown. He also ran for 30 yards on two carries.
