Former Texans WR Cecil Shorts Says He Already Has Interest From “At Least 5 Teams”

Former Texans WR Cecil Shorts mentioned that he’s already drawing interest from “at least five teams” since he recently became available.

“We have a lot of interest,” Shorts told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “I’m trying to figure out the best fit for me and figure out what’s next. We’re going to take our time and make a good decision.”

Shorts added that he expects everything to work out, and he has no hard feeling for how things went with the Texans.

Things will work out,” Shorts said. “I ain’t worried about it. It’s part of the business. At the end of the day, it’s a business. Me being in the league for a long time, I kind of saw it coming.”

Shorts, 28, is a former is a former fourth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract in Jacksonville before signing on with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent last year.

Shorts was is in the final year of his two-year, $6 million contract that included $2.5 million guaranteed when he agreed to a pay cut to remain with the team.

In 2015, Shorts appeared in 11 games and caught 42 passes for 484 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
