Franchise Tag Rumors: Dashon Goldson, Calais Campbell, Dwayne Bowe

Dashon Goldson

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the San Francisco 49ers “plan” on using their franchise tag to keep  S Dashon Goldson with the team for the 2012 season.

Previous reports have suggested that the team was considering this move over tagging CB Carlos Rogers. Goldson finished 2012 with a career high with 6 interceptions. The tag will run San Francisco $6.2 million for the 2012.

Calais Campbell

Schefter updates the Arizona Cardinals situation by mentioning that they will use their franchise tag to buy extra time in negotiations with DE Calias Campbell.

The two sides have been reported to be in contract discussions currently but the move would allow them work on finishing the specifics of a long-term agreement.

Dwayne Bowe

Schefter also adds that Chiefs “plan” on tagging Dwayne Bowe in the coming days as well.

No real surprise here as we posted an article earlier in the day that mentioned that the Chiefs are prepared to use the tag despite head coach Romeo Crennel’s comment that he wasn’t sure what was going to happen in regards to Bowe’s future with the team.
