Peter King of SI.com writes that free agents like WR Greg Jennings and OT Jake Long “will likely be disappointed” by the kind of interest they’ll find on the open market this year.
King mentions that both Jennings and Long could be impacted by their injury histories and the fact that there are other options available at their respective positions.
King adds that Mike Wallace will be one of the more intriguing players to watch given that he turned down a contract extension from the Steelers that would have paid him $7 million annually.
“I like Mike Wallace,” said one general manager who spoke with King and is in need of a receiver. “But I’m not paying him Vincent Jackson money. Not even close.”
King tosses out the Browns as a potential landing spot for Wallace and believes Lions DE Cliff Avril “should get a big payday.”
