Free Agent C Samson Satele Still On The Dolphins’ Radar

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins still have free agent C Samson Satele on their radar if their current group of centers continue to struggle in training camp.

The Dolphins have been trying to convert free agent acquisition Shelley Smith from guard to center, but reports out of Miami’s camp have mentioned that he continues to struggle snapping the ball.

Miami is obvious trying to buy some time for Pro Bowl C Mike Pouncey to return from his hip injury, but he isn’t expected to be back until mid-season.

Satele, 29, actually worked out for the Dolphins close to a month ago along with Steve Vallos.

He hasn’t found any reported interest outside of his Dolphins workout since the Colts cut him loose several months ago. Satele happens to be one of the best available options at center in a very limited free agent pool, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see them bring him in if their current issues persist.
