Free Agent FB Zach Line Medically Cleared Following Hip Surgery

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that freeĀ agent FB Zach Line has been cleared to do everything following hip surgery, including full-contact practice in time for training camp.

The Jets previously brought Line in for a visit back in March, but declined to sign him to a contract. There hasn’t been any reported interest in him since the meeting with New York, but this could be due to his hip surgery.

Line, 27, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of SMU back in 2013. He was on and off of theirĀ practice squad a bit, but managed to make the 53-man roster in 2015 and returned to the Vikings last year on a one-year, restricted tender worth $1,671,000.

Line is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Line appeared in 15 games for the Vikings and rushed for 15 yards on seven carries (2.1 YPC) and no receptions.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 fullback out of 17 qualifying players.
