Free Agent LB Akeem Ayers Suspended 4 Games

Field Yates of ESPN reports that free agent LB Akeem Ayers has been suspended for the first four weeks of the season for an undisclosed violation.

Ayers, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2011. He was later traded to the Patriots in return for a 2015 sixth-round pick.

The Rams signed him to a two-year, $6 million contract with $2.75 million guaranteed back in March of 2015. However, he was cut loose by the team in 2016 and later caught on with the Colts.

The Giants signed him to a contract late last season and he finished out the year in New York.

In 2017, Ayers appeared in six games for the Giants and recorded three tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
