Free Agent LB Curtis Lofton Underwent Ankle & Knee Surgery, Still Hoping To Play In 2016

Free agent LB Curtis Lofton mentioned during an interview with 92.9 The Game that he underwent offseason ankle and knee surgeries, per Alex Marvez.

However, Lofton is still hoping to catch on with a team in time for the 2016 season.

This explains why there hasn’t been any reported interest in Lofton since he became available several months ago.

Lofton, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2008. He spent four years in Atlanta before signing on with the Saints as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

The Raiders elected to sign him to a three-year, $18 million contract last year, but he was released after failing a physical at the start of free agency in a move that freed up $2 million in cap space for Oakland.

In 2015, Lofton appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 64 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
