Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that free agent LB Gerald Hodges is in New York visit with the Giants on Wednesday.
Hodges’ market is really starting to pick up, as he recently met with the Bills, Colts, Patriots and Jaguars in recent weeks.
Before that, Hodges visited with the Jets, Seahawks, and Chiefs but did not receive an offer from these teams.
Hodges, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2013. Minnesota elected to trade Hodges to the 49ers in return for a sixth-round pick and C Nick Easton back in 2015.
Hodges played out the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million rookie contract and is now testing the open market for the first time in his career.
In 2016, Hodges appeared in 15 games for the 49ers and recorded 83 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
