Free Agent OT Gosder Cherilus Visiting Lions

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that free agent OTĀ Gosder Cherilus is on his way to visit with his former team, the Lions, after his recent meeting with the Bills.

It was at least a little surprising to see Indianapolis cutĀ Cherilus loose with three year remaining on hisĀ five-year, $34.5 million contract. However, he never lived up to that deal and is coming off of an injury.

Cherilus, 31, had a decent season for the Lions a few years back, which led to him cashing in as a free agent.

For the Bills, it’s certainly worth a look as they could use some more offensive line depth.

In 2014, Cherilus was limited to appearing 13 games for the Colts.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 offensive tackleĀ out of 84 qualifying players.
