Free Agent QB David Carr An Option For The Ravens?

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun writes that free agent QB David Carr could be a potential backup quarterback option for the Ravens.

  • Wilson cites Carr’s knowledge of new Ravens OC Gary Kubiak‘s system as one of key factors that could make him a decent fit.
  • Wilson adds that Baltimore could also wait to see if the Texans release one of their backups such T.J. Yates or Case Keenum following the NFL Draft.

The Ravens have reportedly been in the hunt for a backup quarterback after failing to sign QB Brandon Weeden who is now with the Cowboys.

Tyrod Taylor is currently the team’s backup, but also entering the final year of his contract, and has yet to develop into a reliable option.

In addition to exploring veteran options, Baltimore has also met with quarterback prospects including Jimmy Garoppolo of Eastern Illinois and Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas.

Carr, 34, hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2012 with the New York Giants, but is hoping to sign with a new team in the coming weeks.
