Free Agent QB Tim Tebow’s Career Already Over?

David Fleming of ESPN writes that members of QB Tim Tebow‘s camp are “privately admitting that his NFL run is probably over.

Tebow, 25, took the football world by storm by leading the 2011 Broncos to the playoffs after a 1-4 start.  However, just after that season, the Broncos acquired QB Peyton Manning and traded Tebow to the Jets.  Now that Tebow has been released by the Jets and went unclaimed through waivers, some apparently think that he is too much of a distraction for what he offers.

He’s not a quarterback,” one NFC scout said, “When you look at his run two years ago, when you watch the tape and break it down, he wasn’t really doing anything that impressive. He’s a tough guy, a great leader, a great person. But he isn’t a good enough quarterback to have all the distractions that come with him.

Earlier in the offseason, Tebow was connected to teams in need of depth at quarterback such as the Patriots, Chargers, Seahawks, Redskins, Raiders, and Browns, but all of those teams seem to have either found a different option or feel comfortable in their current situation.
