Free Agent WR Jeremy Maclin Dealing With Tweaked Hamstring, Plans To Play In 2018

According to Adam Schefter, free agent WR Jeremy Maclin had offers to sign before the start of training camp, but he was waiting for the right opportunity.

Schefter says that Maclin is dealing with a tweaked hamstring right now and is still a few weeks before being 100 percent. However,  Maclin intends to play in 2018.

Back in April, the Cowboys and Eagles both made “preliminary inquiries” about Maclin before signing other receivers.

Maclin, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. He spent five years with the Eagles before signing a five-year, $55 million contract that included $22.5 million guaranteed with the Chiefs in 2015.

After being released by the Chiefs, Maclin signed him to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Ravens last year. Unfortunately, Baltimore elected to release Maclin back in March in a move that created $5 million of available cap space.

In 2017, Maclin appeared in 12 games for the Ravens and caught 40 passes for 440 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 receiver out of 118 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
