Free Agent WR Robert Woods Hoping To Be Back With Bills

Bills free agent WR Robert Woods mentioned that while he has to be prepared to move on, he’s still hoping to be back in Buffalo next year.

“We have to be prepared to go,” Woods said of him and QB Tyrod Taylor, via BuffaloBills.com. “Hopefully it’s with Buffalo, just because we’ve been there, we’ve been throwing together and we are ready to be a complete unit with Sammy Watkins coming back, as well. It’s hard because we’re training and working out, but we haven’t heard anything as of yet. Who knows what’s going on upstairs in the offices, but we’re preparing and working and I know Tyrod is as well to have a better season than he did even over the last two years.

Woods added that he has no issue being the team’s No. 2 receiver to Sammy Watkins.

Sammy deserves being the number one, but I have no problem being number two or being 1-A,” Woods said. “As long as we are progressing, moving the ball down the field and making plays, I have no problem with that.”

Woods, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $4,866,769 rookie contract with the Bills and is now in a position to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.

In 2016, Woods appeared in 13 games for the Bills and caught 51 passes for 613 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 59 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
