Geno Smith The Favorite To Win Jets Starting QB Job?

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News believes that the Jets rookie QB Geno Smith will win the team’s starting quarterback job.

Mehta adds that as long as the former West Virginia product remains “sharp” during his preseason showings, the job is his. During the team’s annual Green and White scrimmage, Smith outshined Mark Sanchez, who was booed off the field.

While Smith did have lapses in which he struggled and proved he still needed to work on some areas, head coach Rex Ryan would praise Smith’s “absolutely tremendous” play.

Smith is destined to be the Jets starting quarterback this season.  As of now Geno Smith’s real competition is his own self.
