Georgia ILB Alec Ogletree Arrested On DUI Charges Last Weekend

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Georgia inside linebacker Alec Ogletree was arrested on DUI charges last weekend.

“Last weekend, my client Alec Ogletree was pulled over for speeding and a lane violation in Arizona,” said Ogletree’s agent Pat Dye, Jr. “After the officers smelled alcohol, they conducted tests and also cited him for DUI.  Although Alec regrets this incident terribly, he is thankful that there was no accident and that no one was hurt.  Because this matter is still pending, we cannot comment further publicly at this time.

The news of Ogletree’s arrest comes a week before the annual NFL Scouting Combine, which will no doubt be a hot topic during the interview process at Indianapolis.

Ogletree is widely considered to be a first-round talent, so this news figures to have negative impact on his overall draft stock. Ogletree has a history of red flags as he was suspended four games in 2012 for violating the Georgia’s substance abuse policy after failing multiple drug tests.

We had Ogletree going to the Steelers at No. 17 overall in recent 2013 NFL Mock Draft.
