Georgia LB Roquan Smith Visiting 49ers Tuesday

Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area reports that Georgia LB Roquan Smith is visiting with the 49ers on Tuesday.

This is certainly notable, considering that 49ers ILB Reuben Foster was charged with three felonies last week and Smith could be a prime option for San Francisco No. 9 overall along with Virginia Tech LB Tremaine Edmunds.

There has been an increasing amount of buzz about Smith being the first linebacker draft and a potential top-10 pick when all is said and done.

Smith, 21, was one of the best linebackers in the country during his time at Georgia. In 2017, Smith won the Dick Butkus Award and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

During his three-year college career, Smith recorded 252 tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, three recoveries and three pass defenses over the course of 38 games.
