Giants Activate RB Shane Vereen From Injured Reserve

The Giants officially announced that they’ve activate RB Shane Vereen from injured reserve on Saturday and waived OL Adam Gettis to make room for him.

Art Stapleton reports that the Giants are expected to activate RB Shane Vereen from injured reserve today.

According to Stapleton, Vereen will practice today and play in Sunday’s game gainst the Cowboys, barring anything unforeseen.

New York placed Vereen on injured reserve back in September with a triceps injury.

Vereen, 27, signed a three-year, $12.35 million that included $5 million guaranteed with the Giants back in March of last year. He’s stands to make base salaries of $3.15 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Vereen has appeared in three games and rushed for 147 yards on 31 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 75 yards receiving and one total touchdown.
