Giants Attended Supplemental DT Ra’Zahn Howard’s Pro Day

Kristian Dyer of GiantsWire.com reports that the Giants attended Purdue DT Ra’Zahn Howard’s Pro Day on Friday of last week.

Howard is considered to be the best Supplement prospect in this year’s draft. In fact, Jason Cole of B/R reported a few weeks ago that of the six eligible players for this year’s Supplemental Draft, Howard is likely the only player in position to be drafted, somewhere between rounds 5-7.

The other eligible players in this year’s Supplement Draft include: Sam Houston State RB Jalen Overstreet, Ole Miss CB Tee Shepard, Virginia Tech LS Eddie D’Antuono, University of Calgary WR Rashaun Simonise and Concordia DE Cameron Walton.

Howard played three seasons at Purdue, but elected to enter the 2016 supplemental draft due to academic reasons, according to Adam Schefter.

Reports from a month ago mentioned that Howard was planning to transfer from Purdue, but it’s clear that he plans to focus on a pro career, via the Supplemental Draft.

Last year, the Rams elected to use a fifth-round pick on OT Isaiah Battle, which was the first time a player had been taken since the Browns drafted WR Josh Gordon back in 2012.

During his college career, Howard recorded 47 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss including three sacks, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.
