Giants CB Janoris Jenkins Suspended For Violating Team Rules

Kimberly Jones is reporting that Giants CB Janoris Jenkins has been suspended for violation of team rules and will miss Sunday’s game against the Rams.

  • According to Jordan Raanan, Jenkins did not return on time following the bye week.

The Giants have already confirmed the news.

As a member of this team, there are standards and we have responsibilities and obligations,” said coach Ben McAdoo. “When we don’t fulfill those obligations, there are consequences. As I have said before, we do not like to handle our team discipline publicly. There are times when it is unavoidable, and this is one of those times.”

“At that point, neither myself nor any of the coaches had heard from Jackrabbit,” McAdoo said. “I did not speak with him directly until Tuesday morning.”

Jenkins, 29 is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He spent four years with the Rams before signing a five-year, $62.5 million contract that included $28.8 million guaranteed with the Giants.

Jenkins stands to make base salaries of $12.9 million and $10.9 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Jenkins has appeared in six games and recorded 24 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.
