The New York Giants announced Thursday that they’ve hired former Lions GM Martin Mayhew as their director of football operations/special projects.
The Lions fired Mayhew back in November, but he found interest from the Browns for their personnel position and he got an interview for the Titans’ GM position. However, he didn’t get either job.
Mayhew was promoted to general manager back in 2008 after the Lions fired then president Matt Millen. During his time in charge of the team, the Lions produced a record of 41-63 (39.4 percent).
