Giants K Josh Brown Admitted Physically & Emotionally Abusing His Wife In Police Documents

James Kratch of NJ.com has obtained police records that show Giants K Josh Brown admitted to physical abuse toward his wife on multiple occasions in emailed letters, personal journal entries and counseling exercises.

One document signed by Brown shows that he admitted to one of his offenses, saying: “I have physically, verbally and emotionally abused my wife.”

Beyond that, there’s also a letter from Brown to his friends in which he admits to abusing “Molly physically, emotionally and verbally.”

I have been a liar for most of my life,” Brown wrote, via Ralph Vacchinao of SYN.tv. “I made selfish decisions to use and abuse women starting at the age of 7 to fill this void. I objectified women and never really worried about the pain and hurt I caused them. My ability to connect emotionally to other people was zero. My empathy levels were zero.

“Because I never handled these underlying issues I became an abuser and hurt Molly physically, emotionally and verbally. I viewed myself as God basically and she was my slave.”

Browns wife specially mentioned in her journal that Brown “pushes, shoves hits me because I challenge him” and that Brown “says women like me get hit because we can’t shut up.

According to Kratch, the written admissions were part of an investigation file by a King County (Wash.) Sheriff Department that resulted in Brown receiving two charges of fourth-degree domestic violence.

Det. Robin L. Ostrum found there was probable cause for these charges after he investigated the multiple allegations of domestic abuse made by Brown’s then-wife. This resulted in Brown being arrested in May of last year.

The NFL elected to suspend Brown one game for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, which was widely criticized, considering that NFL’s emphasis on domestic violence in recent years.

The Giants have stood by Brown, despite the allegations and the suspension he received from the NFL.

Brown, 37, is in the first year of his new two-year, $4 million contract that included $1 million guaranteed. He stands to make a bases salary of $1.225 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Brown has appeared in five games for the Giants and converted 11 of 12 field goal attempts (91.7 percent) to go along with all nine extra point tries and 15 touchbacks.

We’ll have more regarding Brown as the news is available.
