Giants LB J.T. Thomas Agrees To $2.2M Pay Cut

Field Yates of ESPN reports that Giants LB J.T. Thomas recently agreed to a pay cut that reduced his $2.975 million salary down to $775,000.

Thomas received a roster bonus of $20,000 and another $400,000 available if he plays 70 percent of the team’s snaps.

Thomas, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bears back in 2011. He spent a few years in Chicago before joining the Jaguars in 2013 and later signing a three-year, $10 million contract that included $4.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.

Thomas is in the final year of his contract and was set to make a base salary of $2.975 million for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Thomas was limited to appearing in just one game after he was placed on injured reserve with torn ligaments in his left knee.
