Giants LB Jon Beason Will Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

Kimberly Jones is reporting that Giants LB Jon Beason will undergo season-ending surgery to repair his injured right foot.

  • Jones adds that Beason’s procedure has not yet been scheduled.

Beason mentioned last week in an interview with WFAN’s Mike Francesa that undergoing season-ending surgery on his injured foot could be in his best interest long-term.

Beason, 29, signed a three-year, $16.8 million contract that included $6.03 million guaranteed with the Giants during the offseason. However, he has been limited to appearing in just four games and has recorded 11 tackles on the season.

New York is likely to move forward with Jameel McClain as their starting middle linebacker now that Beason’s 2014 season is over.
