Giants Not “Especially High” On UNC TE Eric Ebron

According to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com, indications are that the Giants aren’t “especially high” on North Carolina TE Eric Ebron.

  • Raanan adds that New York isn’t “overly impressed with his skills and overall package.”
  • Ebron has reportedly visited with the Raven, Panthers, Bills and Lions.

It seemed like Ebron could be on the Giants radar at No. 12 overall should he be available, but it appears as though they prefer numerous prospects over him.

Raanan lists: Zack Martin (Notre Dame), Jake Matthews (Texas A&M), Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix (Alabama), Mike Evans (Texas A&M) and Odell Beckham Jr (LSU) as the top-five targets for the Giants in round one.

The Giants could really go in numerous directions with the first-round selection. GM Jerry Reece is notorious for taking the best available player no matter the position, but given where they are in round one, they should be able to get someone who also fits an obvious need.

We have the Giants taking DL Aaron Donald going to the Jets at No. 12 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
