Giants Now Open To A Long-Term Deal With Osi?

New York Giants GM Jerry Reese mentioned that they’re considering the idea of offering DE Osi Umenyiora a contract extension.

“We got a lot to talk about,” Reese said, ESPN New York. “It could happen. Right now we have a lot of issues to look at and got to formulate a good game plan and see if we can get it done.”

Reese added that; “We are open to everything right now. But we don’t know what we can do yet (salary cap-wise).”

Osi, 31, appears to have backed off of his trade demands and has expressed interest in remaining with the team. New York will have to make a few moves to get in a better financial position before addressing his future with the but at least it seems like a more likely scenario than it did months ago.
