Giants Officially Place WR Victor Cruz On Season-Ending I.R.

The Giants have officially placed veteran WR Victor Cruz on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday following his recent knee injury, according to Field Yates.

Cruz unfortunately suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee during Sunday night’s game against the Eagles.

It was clear that Cruz sustained a major knee injury given that he was screaming in pain on the field and was sobbing as he was carted off.

Former Chargers team doctor David Chao mentions that Cruz will be able to make a full recovery from his torn patellar tendon, but it won’t be an easy rehab period.

Cruz, 27, is in second year of his six-year, $45.879 million contract that includes $15.625 million guaranteed. His base salary for the 2014 season is $3.999 million, but will increase to $6.15 million next year.

Cruz finishes the 2014 season with 23 receptions for 334 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of six games.
