Giants Officially Place WRs Odell Beckham Jr & Dwayne Harris On Injured Reserve

The New York Giants announced Monday that they’ve officially placed wide receivers Odell Beckham and Dwayne Harris on injured reserve.

This is just procedural for New York, as reports have made it clear that both players are out for the year.

The Giants have also promoted WR Travis Rudolph to their active roster (NFLTR) and re-signed WR Tavarres King (NFLTR).

New York also signed WR Darius Powe to their practice squad.

Beckham, 24, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $10,406,198 contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,839,02 for the 2017 season.

The fifth-year option will run the Giants $8,459,000, but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.

Harris, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2011. He spent four years in Dallas before signing a five-year, $17.5 million contract that included $7.1 million guaranteed with the Giants in 2015.

Harris was set to make base salaries of $3.225 million over the remaining two years of the agreement when he agreed to a restructured contract this past March.
