Giants OL David Diehl Expected To Retire

Dave Hutchinson of the Star Ledger mentions that Giants OL David Diehl is expected to announce his retirement in the coming weeks.

Hutchinson points to the fact that Diehl’s body can no longer take the punishment that comes with being an offensive lineman in the NFL.

Diehl, 33, was a fifth-round pick of the Giants and developed into being a very important part of their offensive line over the course of his eleven-year career. He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2009 and started at let tackle for both of the Giants Super Bowl victories over the Patriots.

However, Diehl graded out as one of the worst guards in the league this season, according to Pro Football Focus. If this is in fact the end for Diehl, he had a great career and contributed to some amazing wins for the Giants organization.
