Giants Place DE Robert Ayers, DE Mathias Kiwanuka & OL Adam Snyder On I.R.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the New York Giants have placed three more players on season-ending injured reserve including: DE Robert Ayers, DE Mathias Kiwanuka and OL Adam Snyder.

  • Giants promoted LB James Davidson from their practice squad.
  • Giants signed DE Jordan Stanton to their practice squad.

Reports from Monday mentioned that Ayers’ 2014 season was likely over, so this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Ayers, 29, signed a two-year, $4 million contract that included $1.75 million guaranteed with the Giants back in April. He has a base salary of $1.23 million coming his way for the 2015 season.

Ayers finishes the year with 22 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and a pass defense over the course of 12 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 defensive end in a 4-3 system due to a very impressive pass rush rating.

Kiwanuka, 31, is in the third year of his four-year, $21.75 million contract that included $10.95 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $4.775 million for the 2015 season.

His year ends with him recording 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles over the course of 11 games.

Snyder, 32, signed on with the Giants right before the start of the regular season. He appeared in four games and has played a total of 104 snaps this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
