Giants Place LB Jon Beason On Reserve/Retired List

The New York Giants officially placed LB Jon Beason on reserve/retired list Monday.

This is just a formality, as Beason recently announced his retirement from the NFL a few weeks ago.

Beason, 30, signed a three-year, $16.8 million contract that includes $6.03 million guaranteed. He was set to make $1.9 million and $2.8 million over the remainder of the contract.

This move will ensure that the Giants hold his rights if he elects to return to the NFL at some point down the road.

In 2015, Beason recorded 18 tackles over the course of five games.
