Giants Place OL Geoff Schwartz On Short-Term Injured Reserve

The Giants announced Wednesday that they have placed free agent acquisition G Geoff Schwartz on injured reserve with the designation to return.

  • New York also announced the signing of veteran OL Adam Synder.

Schwartz was carted off the field during the Giants’ third preseason game after he suffered a dislocated toe and it appears as though short-term injured reserve was a strong option given his timetable for a return.

The Giants will now be without Schwartz for the first half of the 2014 season.

Schwartz, 28, signed four-year, $16.8 million contract that included $6.2 million guaranteed with the Giants back in March. We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
