Giants Place WR Cody Latimer & LB Ray-Ray Armstrong On IR, Sign WR Bennie Fowler

The New York Giants announced Tuesday that they’ve placed WR Cody Latimer and LB Ray-Ray Armstrong on injured reserve and signed WR Bennie Fowler.

Other Giants’ roster moves include:

Latimer, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3,708,650 contract before agreeing to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Giants this past March.

Latimer will be an unrestricted free agent again in 2019.

In 2018, Latimer appeared in four games for the Giants and caught six passes for 108 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also totaled 89 kick return yards.

Fowler, 27, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State in May of 2014. He wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but later wound up on their practice squad and returned on a future/reserve contract.

The Broncos brought Fowler back on one-year exclusive rights deals each of the past two years. However, Denver declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent this offseason and he later signed on with the Bears. Chicago, unfortunately, released him coming out of the preseason.

The Patriots signed Fowler to a contract a few weeks later only to cut him loose after.

In 2017, Fowler appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and caught 29 passes for 350 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
