Giants Place WRs Mario Manningham & Trindon Holliday On IR

Rand Getlin is reporting that the Giants have placed WRs Mario Manningham and WR/KR Trindon Holliday on season-ending injured reserve.

Both players were reportedly on the roster bubble, but it is interesting to see the Giants place them on I.R. rather than part ways with them.

Manningham, 28, signed a one-year, $795,000 contract with the Giants back in March. Last year, he was limited to playing in six games, catching nine passes for 85 yards while playing for the 49ers.

Holliday has been an extremely productive kick returner since he signed with the Broncos two years ago. During this time, he’s totaled 1,327 kick return yards, 752 punt return yards and four touchdowns.

However, he’s had three fumbles and hasn’t been able to contribute on offense outside of two receptions for 17 yards receiving. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 12 kick returner in the league last year.
