Giants Placing RB Shaun Draughn On PUP List

The New York Giants are placing RB Shaun Draughn (ankle) on the active/PUP list Thursday, according to James Kratch.

The Giants can activate him at any time from the list once he’s healthy and ready to practice.

Draughn, 29, originally signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in 2011. He lasted just a few months in Washington before he caught on with a number of teams including the Chiefs, Ravens, Colts, Bears, Chargers, and Browns.

Draughn signed on with the 49ers during the 2015 season, but wound up being placed on season-ending injured reserve in December. The 49ers did, however, bring Draughn back on a one-year contract last year.

Draughn signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Giants this past March.

In 2016, Draughn appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and rushed for 196 yards on 74 carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 263 yards receiving and six total touchdowns.
