Giants Promote RB Michael Cox From Their Practice Squad

The Giants have signed RB Michael Cox to their active roster, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

Starting RB Rashad Jennings was diagnosed with a sprained MCL earlier in the day and is considered to be week-to-week, so this move shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Rookie RB Andre Williams is expected to handle the bulk of their workload with Jennings out of the lineup, but there is a chance that veteran Peyton Hillis could receive some carries as well.

Last year, Cox appeared in 14 games and ran for 43 yards on 22 carries (2 YPC) and added three receptions for 12 yards receiving.
