Giants Promote WR Ben Edwards, Sign WR Julian Talley To Practice Squad

The New York Giants announced that they’ve promoted WR Ben Edwards to their active roster with Odell Beckham being suspended for Week 16’s game.

Edwards, 23, originally signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Richmond back in May. He was waived with the injury designation in July before later being released a few weeks in to the preseason.

Edwards later returned to the Giants when he signed on to their practice squad.

As a senior in 2013, Edwards recorded 74 receptions for 706 yards and five touchdowns, 31 rushing attempts for 153 yards and a touchdown for the Spiders. However, he later suffered a torn knee ligament in November and did not play in 2014.
