The Giants re-signed Powe to a futures contract back in January. However, New York waived him with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

He signed on with the Giants’ practice squad after being released with an injury settlement,

During his four-year college career at Cal, Powe recorded 104 receptions for 1,253 yards receiving (12 YPC) and 11 touchdowns.

Mathews, 24, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in November of last year. He was brought back on a future/reserve contract, but was unfortunately cut loose just a few days after this year’s NFL draft.

The Packers later signed Mathews to a contract. However, he was among their early roster cuts towards the end of the preseason. Mathews has been on and off of the Packers’ practice squad this season.

During his four-year college career, Mathews recorded 400 tackles, 43 tackles for a loss, 16 sacks, six forced fumbles, two recoveries, nine interceptions with three of them being returned for touchdowns and 14 pass defenses.
