Dan Duggan of NJ.com reports that the Giants are promoting DE Ishaq Williams to their active roster.
It’s likely Williams will take the roster spot of RB Shane Vereen, who is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.
Williams, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in May. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason before being signed to the Giants’ practice squad a day later.
During his college career at Notre Dame, Williams recorded 45 tackles, six sacks, a pass defense and a forced fumble over the course of three seasons.
