Giants Promoting OL Jon Halapio To Active Roster, Waive LB Deontae Skinner

Dan Duggan of NJ.com reports that the Giants are promoting OL Jon Halapio to their active roster on Wednesday. The Giants waived LB Deontae Skinner in a corresponding move.

The Giants’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Adam Bisnowaty
  2. DE Jordan Williams
  3. WR Marquis Bundy
  4. CB Donte Deayon
  5. CB Tim Scott
  6. S Ryan Murphy
  7. WR Travis Rudolph
  8. WR Ed Eagan
  9. FB Shane Smith
  10. OL Anthony Fabiano

Halapio, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2014. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the Pats’ 53-man roster coming out of the preseason during his rookie season and sat out the season before signing a future/reserve contract with the Broncos.

Halapio lasted just a few months in Denver and had brief stints with the Cardinals and Patriots before signing on to the Giants’ practice squad during the 2016 season. New York brought him back on a future/reserve contract, but he was once again waived coming out of the preseason.

Halapio has yet to appear in an NFL game.
