Giants QB Ryan Nassib On The Trading Block?

Giants GM Jerry Reese was about the possibility of trading second-year QB Ryan Nassib on Thursday, and he surprisingly didn’t dismiss the idea.

Instead, Reese told reporters that they intend to “keep all of our options open,” regarding Nassib.

Jordan Raanan of NJ.com writes that this is usually code that the team will attempt to trade the player.

However, Reese did say that Nassib will be given an opportunity to compete for the team’s backup quarterback job behind Eli Manning.

New York signed veteran quarterbacks Josh Freeman and Rusty Smith in recent weeks, which has led to speculation about Nassib’s future with the team.

Raanan expects the Giants to field offer for Nassib during the draft or once training camp is underway.

Nassib, 24, was considered by some to be the best quarterback in last year’s draft class even though he ultimately fell to the fourth round. He still has three years remaining on his rookie contract at very reasonable base salaries, so it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see some teams show interest in him depending on what the Giants elect to do with him.

We’ll have more regarding Nassib as the news is available.
