Report: Giants RB Andre Brown Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks

Update:

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Giants RB Andre Brown is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after he fractured his left leg during Thursday’s final preseason game.

Ryan Torrain could end up filling in for him as David Wilson’s backup.

Andre Brown told reporters following the game that his leg fracture is only a “tiny crack” and doesn’t believe it will require surgery, per Ohm Youngmisuk.

This is positive news for the Giants as it means Brown should be able to return at some point this season. It’s still hard to project how long he’ll miss.

We’ll have more regarding the Giants and Brown as the news is available.

———-

The New York Giants have announced that RB Andre Brown suffered a leg fracture during Thursday’s final preseason game.

Brown, 26, actually broke the same leg last season, so this is really an unfortunate situation for him and the Giants. Many expected Brown to handle the team’s goalline carries this season, but it now appears as though David Wilson will handle the majority of the workload with Brown almost certainly out for the year.

This is purely a speculative idea, but Brandon Jacobs is available and has said that he would be open to returning to the Giants. It’s hard to say what he offers at this point in his career or if the Giants will even look to bring someone new in.

Other speculative options could include Willis McGahee and Michael Turner.
