Giants Re-Sign ERFA DT Robert Thomas

The New York Giants have re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Robert Thomas to a one-year, $540,000 contract on Tuesday, according to Ralph Vacchiano.

Thomas, 25, originally signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas in 2014. He was on and off of the practice squad during his rookie season before signing on to the Seahawks’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season.

Thomas had a brief stint with the Patriots before the Dolphins signed him to their active roster in December of 2015. The Panthers claimed him off of waivers right before last year’s draft, only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Thomas wound up being claimed by the Giants and finished out the year in New York.

In 2016, Thomas appeared in eight games for the Giants and recorded five tackles and a sack.
