Giants Re-Sign ERFA TE Will Tye

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that the Giants have re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Will Tye to a one-year, $615,000 contract.

Tye, 25, wound up signing on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Stony Brook back in 2015. He was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

New York elected to bring Tye back last year on an exclusive rights contract and he worked his way into a much larger role in the team’s offense.

In 2016, Tye appeared in all 16 games and caught 48 passes for 395 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 61 tight end out of 63 qualifying players.
