The New York Giants announced Wednesday that they’ve re-signed veteran S Brandon Meriweather.
- The Giants also placed FB Nikita Whitlock on season-ending injured reserve.
Meriweather, 31, signed a one-year, $870,000 contract with the Giants after they sustained some injuries at safety. However, he was released in recent weeks to make room for DT Barry Cofield.
This season, Meriweather has appeared in 11 games and recorded 53 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass defenses for the Giants. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 safety out of 86 qualifying players.
