Giants Re-Sign WR Domenik Hixon

Mike Garafolo reports that the Giants gave Hixon a one-year deal worth $615,000 but doesn’t include a signing bonus.

The contact makes sense when you consider that he’s suffered two ACL injuries in the last two seasons. He’ll get a shot to earn one of the team’s final receiver spots throughout training camp and the preseason.

Giants WR Domenik Hixon announced via his Twitter account that he’s re-signed with the New York Giants.

I Just got done officially signing back with the Superbowl Champs!!! #blessed #readytoplay,” Hixon tweeted, via ESPN New York.

Hixon is coming off of two straight season in which he suffered ACL tears so the Giants are obviously expecting him to overcome the injury concerns and help mitigate the loss of Mario Manningham who is expected to leave during free agency.

New York will most likely go with whoever emerges out of Hixon, Ramses Barden and Jerrel Jernigan to take over as the teams #3 wide receiver for the 2012 season.
